Anna veterans say they would serve again if they could

Posted: Updated:

ANNA -- Saturday, the nation paused to take time to thank our veterans across the country.

Hundreds of people in Anna turned out to do just that with a parade.

Many of Union County's veterans were honored with floats and special celebrations.

Some veterans said they wouldn't miss the chance to go back and serve their country all over again.

"It's one of the patriotic things that our country stands for and I have no question that I would go back and do the same thing again," Bob Caraker said, a Vietnam veteran.

He said he enlisted during the Vietnam War to fly helicopters and then spent 20 more years in the National Guard.
