Posted: Updated:

CARTERVILLE -- Hope is one word all cancer patients and their caregivers share. As we wrap up Breast Cancer Awareness Month we're talking about the importance of support.

The SIH Cancer Center in Carterville has navigators who go to work supporting newly diagnosed patients. We talked with one of those navigators as well as breast cancer survivor Shanna Higgerson. She was diagnosed at the age of 36.

Click the video to hear her story and the services available at the Cancer Center.
