Carbondale holds annual pumpkin race

Posted: Updated:

CARBONDALE -- You may have watched the Charlie Brown's the Great Pumpkin, but have you ever seen a pumpkin race?

Well the Carbondale Rotary Club blocked off part of Mill Street to do just that.

People from around the community did their best to make a racer out of a pumpkin and Club members said it's not as easy as it looks.

"You can't put a pumpkin racer together last minute. It takes a bit to put a racer together. To come and watch, obviously, you can show up just before 2 o'clock," Marcia Sinnott said. Sinnott is a member of the Carbondale Rotary Club that organized the race.

Because if you try and put it together last minute, your pumpkin might not meet all the requirements.

If your racer get disqualified... it's smashed into pieces.
