Rare Chop House tops Oct. 16 Restaurant Report Card

Posted: Updated:

WSIL -- Rare Chophouse in Mt. Vernon received a 98. The Jefferson County inspector took away points because the floor and walls needed to be maintained better.

The Jackson County inspector gave Chango's in Carbondale an 87. Two critical violations were found. Five points were deducted because cooked beef was not being stored in a cool enough setting, that food was thrown away. Four points were lost because the bar sink didn't have enough sanitizer solution. Paper towels were missing from that area too and that cost the restaurant two additional points. Additional violations include some shelving that needed to be painted and sealed.

Crown Brew Coffee in Carterville received a 92. The Williamson County inspector says self-closures need to be on all doors. Napkins and soda glasses need to be stored at least six inches off the ground and an employee that was training wasn't wearing a hair restraint.

Paducah's Wingstop earned a 96. The McCracken County inspector reminded employees to have clean uniforms and hair restraints in the food prep areas.
