Randolph County man faces 12 charges

Posted: Updated:

RANDOLPH CO. -- A man, recently cleared of involuntary manslaughter, finds himself behind bars again.

Steeleville Police arrested 39 year-old Beau Shawgo early Tuesday morning, after a brief struggle. Now he faces 12 charges including DUI, possesion of marijuana, and resisting a peace officer and aggravated assault.

The Steeleville Police Chief says officers noticed Shawgo, who's known to have a suspended driver's license, driving at the Huck's gas station on East Broadway Street. An officer followed him to East Main Street where Shawgo was parked with the lights off. The officer ordered Shawgo out of the car, but he refused and took off.

A short time later, another officer found him on Streamline Road in Percy and ordered him, once again, to get out of the car.

After a brief struggle he got out and police took him into custody. Shawgo is being held in the Randolph County jail on 15 thousand dollars bond.
