ROYALTON -- A home in Franklin County is a complete loss after an overnight fire.

The Royalton Fire Department responded to a fully engulfed house fire at 202 South Manering St., around 10 p.m. Sunday. Several fire departments helped fight the flames.

Royalton Fire Chief Mike Hooker says crews left around 2:30 a.m. Monday, but were called back a few hours later when the house rekindled. Heavy equipment had to be used to help firefighters put out hot spots.

No one was home at the time of the fire, but two dogs were found safe in a detached garage. No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is not known at this time, but it is not considered suspicious.
