Restaurant Report Card: School cafeterias

WSIL -- Several schools in the region have been inspected by the health department recently. Here's a look at some of the scores.

In Franklin County, there are several perfect scores including; Benton High School, Central Junior High and Frankfort Intermediate School in West Frankfort, Ewing-Northern schools and Sesser-Valier Schools. Akin Consolidated lost one point, Benton Elementary got a 96 and Christopher High School received 95.

The Jefferson County inspector didn't take away any points from McClellan Grade School in Mt. Vernon, Waltonville grade school/ high school and Woodlawn grade school and high school.

In Williamson County, all the schools checked are in Herrin. The high school was perfect, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel received a 98 and the junior high was a point lower. Both Herrin Elementary and Northside Grade School received a 96.

    HERRIN, Ill. -- For the past 20 years, Bill Harper has played guitar for children's mass at Our Lady Mt. Carmel Catholic Church three times a week. He uses a special, acoustic guitar worth $3,000.
