Vigil held for Vegas victims

Posted: Updated:

CARBONDALE -- It's been one week since the shooting massacre in Las Vegas and people continue to gather to honor the 58 innocent lives that were taken.

A group came together for a candle light vigil Sunday night at the Gaia House to remember the victims. Fifty-eight people were killed and more than 500 others were injured after a gunman opened fire on a music festival from his hotel room.

"We just wanted to get together, a bunch of them from all different faiths and take a few minutes to think about them and pray for them, and just pray for peace and love to conquer the hate that's out there," said Valery Behan, who's involved with the Gaia House.

People at the vigil said they're also thinking about victims and their families recently affected by hurricanes and other natural disasters.
