IHOP hops to the top of the Restaurant Report Card

Posted: Updated:

WSIL --  The Marion location of IHOP only lost one point. The Williamson County inspector trim in the back door area needed to be repaired.

The Franklin County inspector gave Maid Rite in Christopher an 83. There were two critical violations found during that check. The first was a five point loss because the cooler was not keeping food items cold enough. The other critical violation was a hand washing issue. The grill line wall, cooler shelves and food bins in the kitchen needed to be cleaned better. Ceiling tiles also needed to be fixed.

Mexican restaurant El Ranchito was a couple points higher. The Saline County inspector gave the Harrisburg joint an 85. Two critical violations were found there too. Raw food being stored above ready to eat foods in the cooler, that was a four point loss. Four more points were lost because the restaurant needed pest and rodent control. When the inspector returned three days later, the critical violations had been fixed.

Steak 'n Shake in Carbondale earned a 90. The Jackson County inspector found one critical violation, which was food in the prep fridge stored at 50 degrees, much warmer than the 41 degree threshold. The food was thrown away. Several other cleaning violations were also found.

Ice cream shop Cold Stone Creamery in Paducah received a 97 from the McCracken County inspector, a couple of minor cleaning problems were noted.
