MARION -- If you drink a lot of soda saving the caps could help win some money for your school.
Pepsi MidAmerica launched the "collect the caps" program.
High schools that collect the most caps could win up to $10,000.
High schools will be broken out into three different divisions, with Southern and Central Illinois being one division.
Pepsi says it's all about getting students, teachers, coaches and communities to come together.

"We teamed up with Dr Pepper and they're big on college football. And we felt like, as many college football fans as we have, we just wanted to give more local, to our local communities and the best way we found to do that was to integrate our local high schools," said Director of Marketing Doug Deaton.
The first place prize is $10,000. Second is $5,000. Third is $2,500 in each of the divisions.
Collection day will be held in Marion on Saturday, October 21st.
