Reunion brings together Honor Flight veterans

Posted: Updated:

WILLIAMSON CO. -- The Veterans Honor Flight of Southern Illinois reunited veterans and guardians who took part in the first Honor Flight in May.

The reunion dinner was held at Veteran's Airport of Southern Illinois Friday night.

The second Honor Flight will take off from Marion on October 17th.

That flight is fully funded and booked.

Next month 65-veterans will visit Washington, D.C. to see the monuments built in their honor.

Of those 65, 26 are World War II veterans.

Organizers say, while this trip is ready for take off, they're already planning for the next flight.

Chairman of the Board, Bryan Questelle said, "We want everybody, we need volunteers, we need guardians, like i said we have 200 guardians on a list. People really enjoy it."

The organization hopes the third honor flight will be in April.
