JACKSON CO. -- Many eclipse celebrations are kicking off in Carbondale. That includes Shadow Fest, which offers live entertainment for three days.
A handful of volunteers were on-hand Friday helping set up for the event.
Shadow Fest is located at the intersection of Route 13 and Washington Street.
The event is put on by Carbondale Main Street, but a local service organization is lending a hand to help where needed.
Earlier this morning members of a group called CWS helped moved tables, tents and trash bins.
The group is based in Carbondale and volunteer Calvin McDaniel says they do different cleanup projects year-round.
McDaniel calls this an opportunity for Carbondale residents to roll out the red carpet to visitors.
"It's a gathering to get together to learn, to meet people, to enjoy, to, you know, enjoy the community," said McDaniel.
The group has volunteers as young as college age. They plan to be here throughout the weekend and some will help park cars Monday morning at Giant City Park.
