Local artist helps raise money with Eclipse painting

Posted: Updated:

HERRIN --  A local artist is using her talent to commemorate the Eclipse and raise money to honor veterans. Nichole Pate painted an Eclipse portrait recently.

The 14x19 work of art is up for auction. Money raised will benefit the Honor Wreaths for Veterans program. That's the group that provides wreaths on the graves of veterans at the Mound City National Cemetery.

You can bid on the artwork until 1:21 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21 (Eclipse Day). Click here to make a bid or donation to the program.
