Williamson County Fairgrounds to open for eclipse camping

Posted: Updated:

WILLIAMSON CO. -- Leaders with the Williamson County Fairgrounds will open their gates for Eclipse watchers.

They said they'll have plenty of room for tents, campers and RV hookups.

Fair Board President Rick Herring said over the last week, the calls have come non-stop from people looking for a place to stay.

Herring says the gates will open Thursday Aug.17 and will stay open till about Aug. 22.

He said he's gotten calls from as far as Wisconsin, Texas and Chicago.

Herring said because most of the hotels and camp grounds have filled up, the fairgrounds offers visitors another option.

Staying at the fairgrounds will only cost $50 a night, with tents at a minimum of 2 days at $35 per tent.

Anyone interested in staying at the fairgrounds, can register online with the Williamson County Fair.
