Man falls asleep while driving in White County, crashes motorcycle

WHITE CO. -- A man traveling on a motorcycle through White County on Saturday evening was taken to the hospital after he fell asleep while driving.

Illinois State Police said 68-year-old Nathan Jefferson of Shivley, Kentucky, was traveling east on I-64 around 7:00 p.m. when his motorcycle left the roadway and entered the median. 

The motorcycle then ramped a drainage grate before coming to rest.

Jefferson was taken to the hospital by ambulance, but his condition is unknown.
