CARBONDALE -- A Carbondale woman is using her business as a way to help ensure children get to experience art as part of their education.

Tiffany Walker runs the creative studio Plush UNLTD in Carbondale and came up with the idea of a summer arts program to help combat cuts to the arts in public education.

Art is something she said is important in people's everyday lives.

"You can make a career out of this and even if you didn't want to, you know there is a place or a mentorship where you can just master your skills," she said.

Tiffany said the programs will feature a variety of art-based curriculum from painting to performing art.

She said families can register their children until the day of and she hopes to continue the programs in the future.

Classes begin Monday, and parents wanting to register their children can go to www.plushunltd.com
