Harrisburg man killed after being hit by car

HARRISBURG -- Authorities in Harrisburg say a man died Monday being hit by a car.

Police were called to the intersection of East Sloan and South Commercial Streets around 9:45 Monday night after a report of a car versus pedestrian crash.

When police arrived they found a 53-year-old Harrisburg man lying in the roadway unresponsive.

The man was taken by helicopter to an Evansville hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

His name is not being released at this time. 

The accident is under investigation, no charges or arrests have been made at this time.
