Posted: Updated:

LAKE OF EGYPT -- Two off-duty Lake of Egypt firefighters rescued a woman on Saturday after she drove her truck into the lake during a crash.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. near the Party Cove Bridge on Power Plant Road.

The Lake Egypt Fire Protection District said those firefighters, Captain Matt Blue and Carl Bryant, were wrapping up a day on the lake when they heard there was a car crash and that a woman's truck was in the water.

The firefighters quickly found the woman swimming in the water and got her to safety.

The cause of the crash is unknown, but firefighters said there weren't any serious injuries.
