WSIL-TV -- To view the 2017 solar eclipse you must be in the path of totality. This page offers information on where that path lies over the three states in the heart of the WSIL viewing area, Illinois, Missouri and Kentucky.
We begin with the most eastern state, Missouri. The fast moving eclipse will come into view in northwest Missouri about 1:05 p.m. CT on August 21. It will reach southeast Missouri and the Metro East area of Illinois about 1:17 p.m. The total eclipse will reach Carbondale by 1:20, Paducah, KY by 1:22 and Hopkinsville, KY by 1:24 p.m.
The maps below by Michael Zeiler show the path of the total solar eclipse as it passes through Missouri, Illinois and Kentucky.
