Carolyn Cerda co-anchors WSIL News at 6, 6:30 and 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and also reports. She joined the News 3 team in October 2016.
Carolyn comes to southern Illinois from the Shenandoah Valley, where she was an anchor at WHSV in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Previously, Carolyn covered news in her hometown of Dallas, Texas as an associate producer at NBC 5. Prior to that, she was a reporter, producer and fill-in anchor at the ABC affiliate stations in Shreveport and Lafayette, Louisiana.
Over the years, Carolyn has reported on a vast range of stories, from the 2010 BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill to a Donald Trump rally in Virginia. She's also covered several hurricanes along the Gulf Coast.
A Dallas native, Carolyn is an avid Cowboys fan, but don't hold that against her. She has a soft spot for (new) home teams, too!
When Carolyn is away from work, she enjoys walks/runs/hikes, playing with her dog, Peanut, and catching a new movie with her husband. She's also really excited to take on new adventures in southern Illinois.
