Jeb Bush not voting Trump or Clinton

Posted: Updated:

CNN -- Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush looks to be taking a page from his father. He does not plan to vote for Donald Trump for president.

So who will the former Republican presidential candidate cast his ballot for this election day?

The New York Daily News reports Bush suggested to attendees at a private luncheon Wednesday to vote for Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson. Bush was asked about the report Thursday in Massachusetts.

Reporter: "Daily News Report said that a luncheon on Wednesday that you might vote for Gary Johnson, any truth to that?"

Bush responded, "It is a secret ballot, I'm going to seek the advice of David Kochel who's now a fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School, very impressive guy. I haven't made up my mind what I'm going to do. I'm going to vote and I've made it clear I'm not going to vote for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton. There's nothing to..."

Reporter: "So can one infer?"

Bush: "No, can't infer anything."

Sources close to Jeb Bush's father, former President George HW Bush, said last week that the 92-year-old would vote for Clinton. Former President George W. Bush has generally avoided weighing in on this year's presidential election.
