Southern Illinois AIDS Walk

CARBONDALE -- The annual Southern Illinois AIDS Walk was held in Carbondale on Saturday.

By 11 a.m., 250 walkers showed up at the Newman Catholic Student Center, where they heard Father Joseph Brown speak on the impact of HIV and AIDS in the local community.

The community raised $5,171 at Saturday's event, just shy of their $6,000 goal.

    CARBONDALE -- Saturday's rain didn't stop the fight against Alzheimer’s. Around 150 people carried umbrellas to take part in the "Walk to End Alzhiemer's at SIU's Campus Lake.
