Nick is the weekend meteorologist and a multi-media journalist at News 3. He's no stranger to the different varieties of weather in the Mid-Mississippi and Lower Ohio Valley growing up just a short distance away in Festus, Missouri.
Nick joined WSIL in June of 2011 soon after graduating from the University of Missouri with a degree in Atmosphere Science. Before becoming a part of the News 3 Weather Team, he gained valuable knowledge at KOMU along with an internship at KPLR in St. Louis. As part of the Mizzou Storm Chase Team, he even witnessed an EF-5 tornado in El Reno, Oklahoma in 2011.
Since joining the weather team, he strives to bring the most accurate and informative forecasts in the region on television and social media. Nick holds the prestigious American Meteorological Society's Certified Broadcast Meteorologist distinction, recognizing his outstanding communication skills and knowledge of the weather.
While his first passion is weather, Nick is often spending time in the outdoors, whether it's covering a news story for work, or duck and goose hunting with friends.
Nick is proud to call Southern Illinois home alongside his wife Hilary, daughter Harper, two dogs Jaxson and Jet, and cat Peaches.
