MURPHYSBORO -- In a game featuring several big plays and several weather delays, the Herrin Tigers outlasted Murphysboro 31-28 to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.

For the Red Devils, it was another in a long line of heartbreaking losses. Four of Murphysboro's five losses have been by three points or less.

Both teams came into the game 2-4, meaning they each needed to win their final three to become playoff eligible.

Herrin closes out River to River Ohio play next week at Massac County. Murphysboro will also be on the road, paying a visit to West Frankfort.
