Lions Maul A-J for Senior Night Win

CARTERVILLE -- The Carterville Lions turned five turnovers by Anna-Jonesboro into a 37-0 lead by halftime and cruised to a 43-8 win.

The Lions forced four fumbles, and senior Dalton Brown added an interception in a dominant first half defensive performance by Carterville.

Offensively, Phillip Frangello led the way with three touchdowns as the Lions scored on all six first half possessions.

With the win, the Lions improve to 5-3 to become playoff eligible. They can lock up a playoff spot with a win next week at West Frankfort.

The Wildcats fall to 6-2. They will close the regular season at Herrin.
