Goreville Claims BDC West, Herrin Handles Carterville

Goreville clinched the Black Diamond West Division with a 71-55 over Chester, while Herrin closed out the regular season by beating Carterville 58-41, Saturday night to wrap up the regular season of high school basketball.

The Blackcats jumped out on top of Chester early in the first quarter leading by as much as 12 and used that to spark them to the double digit win and the division title.

Herrin went to Carterville on the Lions senior night and hammered Carterville by 17 closing out the season 22-9.
