CARBONDALE-- Twelve year old Ben Robinson is a cancer survivor. Four and a half years after being diagnosed with a brain tumor and undergoing a year's worth of chemo and radiation, he is thriving.
The sixth grader is playing tight end for his football team and is a huge SIU football fan. To celebrate his journey through cancer, the Elverado-Trico communities raised more than $7,500 to get Ben a blackout cancer jersey in his name. He even got a special invitation to Saluki football practice, where he had a lasting impact on coaches and players.
