A-J Remains Unbeaten, Raises Money
ANNA -- The inaugural White-Out Game could not have gone any better for the Anna-Jonesboro Wildcats.
The Wildcats used a big second half to beat Massac County 36-12 to improve to 3-0 on the season.
By selling t-shirts along with a raffle, silent auction, and other fundraisers, the team wound up raising more than $12,000 that will go to send kids to the Muscular Dystrophy summer camp.
Many of the A-J players and coaches had volunteered at that camp in Missouri back in June. The camp costs $800 per child. The team's goal was to raise $5000, or enough to send six kids to camp. They more than doubled their goal.
Wildcats' coach Brett Detering's son has MD. He along with brothers Bo and Gabe Tate from Galatia served as A-J's honorary captains for the game.
