Salukis Fall at Bradley
PEORIA -- The Basketball Salukis came up just short in their bid for two straight Missouri Valley wins, losing at Bradley 69-66 Tuesday night.
Kendal Brown-Surles and Desmar Jackson each missed contested game tying three-point attempts in the final 10 seconds.
Neither team led by more than six points until Bradley used a 10-2 run to grab a 66-58 advantage with 3:04 to play. Dyricus Simms-Edwards and Walt Lemon, Junior each hit three pointers during the spurt.
SIU hung around, eventually cutting it to 67-66 on a bucket by Jackson with 23 seconds to play. Jackson led all scorers with 21 points--his third straight game of 20 or more.
Lemon, Junior made two free throws with 16 seconds left setting up the final frantic seconds. He finished with 17.
The Salukis fall to 8-9, 1-5 in the MVC. They return home Sunday night to host Illinois State. The Braves improve to 11-7 (3-3).
