CARBONDALE -- SIU softball coach Kerri Blaylock had been stuck on 498 career wins for nearly two weeks.

The Salukis entered Thursday having lost four straight as well as two other games to bad weather.

In the opener, St. Louis grabbed a 5-0 lead on SIU, as the Salukis' bats were silent through the first four innings. Then in the fourth, Michelle Bradley cranked a solo home run to ignite the Dawgs offense. They rallied by the sixth to tie the game at five and forced extra innings.

Then in the bottom of the ninth, Morgan Barchan came through with a walk-off base hit, for the 7-6 game one win.

The Salukis scored nine unanswered runs in the nightcap to win 11-3 in six innings, giving Blaylock her 500th career win.

SIU will host Northern Iowa this weekend.
