Overtime for SIU Football

By WSIL Sports

CARBONDALE-- A disappointing (3-7) season has SIU football players working overtime this summer. Between daily conditioning and seven-on-seven, the Salukis are paying extra attention to the little details.

Unlike summers past, the lineman are joining two nights a week to get down the snaps, audibles, and footwork for the new tempo and no-huddle offenses. Quarterback Kory Faulkner is feeling better after May knee surgery on his meniscus and says the offense is clicking. The defense should be much-improved, with more depth added to the secondary and a rock-solid front three.
