MT. VERNON-- Despite scorching conditions, Woodlawn grad and golfer Nick Tannahill walked 100 holes for charity today. He said the idea came to him in the shower, as a way to raise money for the United Methodist Children's Home in Mt. Vernon.

Tannahill started at 6 a.m. and was through about 60 holes by 1 p.m. He enlisted the help of a couple friends to keep him company throughout the day. The 18-year-old will play for University Illinois-Springfield in the fall.
