MARION-- Despite a solid pitching effort by ace David Harden, the Miners offense came up cold against Wild Things starter Gary Lee. The Miners trailed 2-0 early before a fielder's choice by Carlos Mendez cut it to 2-1.

Miners trailed 3-1 heading into the ninth and had the bases loaded and winning runs, but Will Block grounded out to end the game. Miners fall 3-1 and the rubber game between the teams plays out Saturday at 4:05 p.m.
