Miners Muscle Past Otters

MARION -- Lightning delayed the start of the Southern Illinois Miners game Friday against Evansville.  After the 45 minute delay, the Miners brought the thunder hitting four solo homeruns to beat the Otters 4-3. 

The Miners were hitless going into the fourth until Chris Burke, Steve Marino, and Jared McDonald all took Evansville pitcher Trevor Walch deep for a 3-0 lead. 

The Otters fought back with three in the top of the seventh, tying the game at three.

Then in the bottom of the seventh Ryan Cavan hit Southern Illinois' fourth homer of the game giving the Miners a 4-3 lead.

WIth the win, the Miners have won 10 of 11 at home.  They'll try to make it 11 of 12 Saturday night at Rent One Park.  Gametime will be 6:05.
