Salukis Take Third in the MVC Championships

CARBONDALE -- The SIU women's swimming & diving team finished in 3rd place at the MVC Championships, Saturday night at the Shea Natatorium.

For the third consecutive season the Salukis place in third at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships, as Missouri State claimed the title for the fifth consecutive season.

The Salukis earned nine all-conference selections behind sophomore Isabela Castro and Hannah Pinion. Castro defended her title in the 200 meter butterfly in grand fashion breaking the championship record in the event. Pinion set a championship record in the 200 meter individual medley while also taking first in the 400.
