CEDAR FALLS, IA -- Northern Iowa scored 10 straight points to start the second half and rolled to a 58-45 win over Southern Illinois Wednesday night at the McLeod Center.

SIU (8-11, 1-7) trailed by six at halftime but allowed UNI (11-9, 4-4) to open the second half on a 10-0 run, sparked by back-to-back 3-pointers from Marc Sonnen.

The Salukis were held below 50 points for the first time this season. The loss was the Dawgs' 12th-straight Missouri Valley Conference road defeat dating back to last season. SIU hasn't won at UNI in 10 years, the last time it happened Bruce Weber was coach.

Dantiel Daniels led SIU with 11 points but had just one rebound. Desmar Jackson added nine points.
