Harrisburg Headed to First Final Four

CARBONDALE -- The Harrisburg Bulldogs are heading to the final four for the first time in school history after beating Teutopolis 77-66 at the SIU Class 2A Super-Sectional Tuesday night.

The Bulldogs (31-1) took the lead two minutes into the game and never looked back, taking a seven-point lead after the first quarter and an 11-point advantage at halftime.

Tyler Smithpeters led all scorers with 25 points and nine rebounds. He also picked up three steals. Eli Taborn-Scott added 21 points for the Bullodgs, Capel Henshaw pitched in 17.

Harrisburg will play the winner of the UIS Super-Sectional between St. Joseph-Ogden and Riverton in the state semifinals Friday night at 8:15 p.m. at Carver Arena in Peoria.
