Elverado In Top 5 After Day One Of Bass Fishing State Tournament

CARLYLE -- Day one of the Bass Fishing State Tournament is in the books. 

Friday's first round was shortened by an hour due to approaching storms. Now, 47 of the 66 boats caught fish with nine catching a five fish limit.

Pinckneyville's team hauled in the five fish limit. The Panthers finished in the top ten on day one.

West Frankfort finished just in front of the Panthers. The Redbirds hauled in five fish that weighed just over 11 pounds.

As for the sectional champs, Elverado finished in the top five on day one. The Falcons caught the five fish limit which included a fish weighing over four pounds.

Robinson is first after day one with better than a pound a half lead over Moline.

Elverado, West Frankfort, and Pinckneyville sit fifth, sixth, and seventh heading into Saturday's final round.
