Carbondale 2A Boys Golf Sectionals
CARBONDALE -- Local golfers set their eyes for Normal and the 2A state tournament Monday at Hickory Ridge Golf Course.
Murphysboro's Kody Rendlemen put his approach on #9 within feet of the cup. Rendlemen would finish off the biride and end the day with a 2 over 74 on his way to Normal.
Also taking his talent to Normal is Massac County's Zach Burnham who birdied the 9th as well. Burnham would end his round with a 3 over 75.
Mount Carmel was the only local team to qualify for the state tournament. Senior Christian Seaton would finish his round of 75 with a par on the 18th helping the Aces get back to the state finals to defend their title.
Waterloo would take the team title with a score of 297. Althoff Catholic and Mt. Carmel would tie for the other two spots with 304 each.
Qualifying individually from the area were Mt. Vernon teammates Trevor Flota and Matthew Williams each carded a 73.
