SALEM -- For the second year in a row Goreville goes down in Salem at the Class 1A super-sectional final as the Blackcats season comes to a close with a 57-46 loss to Cowden-Herrick, Monday night.

Goreville just could not slow down Cowden-Herrick's offense as the Hornets went on a 18-4 run late in the second quarter and a 7-0 run to start the third quarter to power them to the double digit victory and into the Class 1A state semifinals.
