Western Kentucky Rallies In 4th To Beat Southern Illinois In All-Star Game
PADUCAH -- Western Kentucky battled Southern Illinois on the football field in the 2014 All-Star game at McCracken High School on Friday night.
Southern Illinois' Damian Reed exploded for a 63 yard touchdown run in the second quarter to give his team a 7-0 lead.
Western Kentucky responded with two touchdowns to lead 14-7 early in the fourth quarter. Southern Illinois' Patrick McCowen intercepted a pass and returned it inside Western's 10 yard line. Southern's Mitchell Bartle scored a touchdown to pull his team within one point. Southern then converted on the two point conversion to take the 15-14 lead.
But Western's Dylan Boone returned a kick-off 85 yards for a touchdown. Western added a field goal to beat Southern Illinois 24-15.
The series is now tied at 5-5.
