Carbondale's Landry Claims Victories In 200, 400 at Sectional

HERRIN -- Cahokia's boys track and field team ran away with the Herrin track and field sectional title on Thursday. Cahokia finished in first place with a score of 152.5 points. Carbondale and Mt. Vernon tied for second place.

Carbondale's Tayvonne Landry claimed wins in the 200 and 400. His best performance came in the 200, where he finished in first place with a time of 21.91 seconds to set a new school record in the event.

Carbondale's Sam Sikon claimed first place in the shot put.

West Frankfort's Hunter Johnson leaped his way to the sectional title in the high jump. He cleared six feet seven inches.

Harrisburg's Luke Horton finished in first place in the 800 meter race.
