Benton Ranger Wrestling Open
BENTON -- Nearly 150 wrestlers from as far away as Chicago, Wisconsin, Indiana and the Metro East competed at the 1st Benton Ranger Wrestling Open Saturday at Rich Herrin Gymnasium.
Anyone was eligible to enter the meet. Wrestlers were grouped into different divisions based on weight and age. The youngest participant was six years old, the oldest 50.
The main objective of the event was to raise money for the Benton Wrestling Club. The group is looking to buy new safety mats for its wrestling room.
