Locals protest Michel Carr's decision to charge a local woman with a felony for reporting her sexual assault.

Victim Faces Prosecution For Reporting

Several protesters were present this morning at the Murphysboro Court House in support of Melisa Vistain- a local woman facing felony charges for "falsely" reporting her sexual assault. Rape crisis centers across Illinois and beyond are up in arms, fearing that the threat of felony charges against a person for reporting a sexual assault will deter other victims from coming forward.

She copped to it; No Contest to the charge of false report; 12 months supervision, $450 fine. What of the harm done to the character of the man she accused? Where's the victim's advocacy for that since there actually was no rape!? HUH!??
