Artist paints first snow.

Artist Jim Serrett of Murphysboro Illinois sees the snow as more artistic inspiration for the Southern Illinois landscape. Painting snow presents a unique challenge compared to other subjects. Painting a snowscape not only tests your comfort zone but low temperatures can have an adverse affect on your materials. The real challenge however, is that snow is never pure white, it is affected by the sky color and reflections of whatever local color is affecting it. There is a whole spectrum of color in snow. One just has to get out there observe and experience it.
