Take your guess at the top 3 breeds in Cletus?

Cache Creek Rescue Benefit Event

A local pet rescue group, “Howlin 4 Hope in Southern Illinois”, has a Facebook page that provides exposure for animals in need. Rescues, pounds, shelters, and individuals may post animals in need, lost/found pets, volunteer requests, and causes here. The Howlin 4 Hope volunteers are excited to announce the creation of “Who’s Yo Doggy Daddy?”, a Facebook page that features fundraising activities benefiting area pet rescue efforts through contests that allow participants to guess the breed ancestry of rescued mixed breed dogs in Southern Illinois.

This month’s event features “Cletus”, who was rescued from a shelter in Mississippi nearly a year ago. The question of Cletus’ genetic heritage has been pondered and debated by adopters Tom Cummings and Sheree King, of Makanda, along with many friends who have met and fallen in love with the mutt. The results of a DNA test, given as a birthday present from wife to husband, will hold the answer, and funds raised by the “Who’s Yo Daddy, Cletus?” contest will support establishment of the Cache Creek Animal Rescue Free Spay and Neuter Clinic in Anna, IL. Cache Creek Animal Rescue hopes to raise $80,000, which will enable the rescue’s clinic to operate as a FREE spay and neuter clinic for one year.
To enter the contest, participants must guess up to three breeds that make up most of Cletus's DNA. A donation in any amount to the Cache Creek Free Spay and Neuter Clinic will qualify the entrant with the closest guess to win a wonderful Southern Illinois gift basket including wine, music cds from local artists, handmade jewelry, accommodations at the Alto Pass Wine Trail Loft, and more.
Cletus' pictures (photos by Jen Haselhorst) and vital statistics are posted on the “Who’s Yo Doggy Daddy” Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/whosyodoggydaddy), as well instructions for placing guesses, and a quicklink for making a donation. Individuals may also mail an entry and donation to: Howlin 4 Hope/Who’s Yo Daddy, Cletus?, c/o Mila Maring-Sims, POB 138, Alto Pass, IL 62905. Checks should be made out to Cache Creek Animal Rescue Free Spay and Neuter Clinic. All donations are tax-deductible.
