Jamaal Tatum Interview Part 2
Former Saluki basketball player Jamaal Tatum sits down with News 3's Rickey Thein to talk about life after SIU
Jamaal Tatum just wrapped up his year playing for the Idaho Stampede in the NBDL. Over the final ten games of the season, he averaged 14 points and 8 assists a contest.
In July, he'll try to hook up with an NBA team during summer league play and he hopes that leads to an invitation to training camp.
From 2004-2007, Jamaal was a fan favorite at SIU.
During his senior season he was named the MVC Player of the Year. He led the Salukis to a 29-7 record and a trip to the sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament. They beat Holy Cross and Virginia Tech before losing to Kansas 61-58.
In each of the last two years, Jamaal has come back to Carbondale to host a basketball camp for area kids.
Jamaal also has a clothing line called One Couture.
On May 1, Jamaal sat down with News 3's Rickey Thein to talk about his new look,
his favorite memories as a Saluki, his time in the NBDL and why he still
believes he'll one day make it to the NBA.
This is part 2 of 2.
