Consumer Alert: Tax Scams
WSIL-TV -- With tax season, comes tax-related scams... often in the form of an email. The National White Collar Crime Center says they appear to come from the IRS. Many will show an IRS logo, and say you're eligible for a refund. You're advised to not click any links in these emails, and don't open any attachments. Doing so could provide personal information that could be used to steal your identity, or allow a virus that can infect your computer.
