Fire Victim's Identity Unknown

BURNT PRAIRIE -- White County authorities hope an autopsy will lead to the identification of a weekend fire victim.

Authorities were called to a house fire in Burnt Prairie just after 9:00 a.m. Saturday.

When they arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames.

After the fire was extinguished, a body was discovered in a back bedroom of the residence.

An autopsy is scheduled for late Monday.

The White County Sheriff's Office, White County Coroner and the Illinois State Fire Marshal's Office are investigating the fire.

Foul play is not suspected.
