The Safest Cars of 2010
Ford and its Volvo unit received the most awards.
Coming in second were Subaru, Volkswagen and Audi.
In all 19 cars and eight S-U-V's merited the "Top safety pick" for their 2010 models.
Other winners included Chrysler,Honda and G.M.
The big factor separating the winners from the losers was crash protection.
Those vehicles making the list have electronic stability control and outstanding roof strength.
